Dual-circuit brake valve 100-3514008 is an aftermarket part for the KAMAZ, MAZ and ZIL trucks.

The dual-circuit brake valve is the main control valve of the air brake system on trucks, linked to the brake pedal. When the pedal is pressed it sends compressed air from the reservoirs to the front and rear brake circuits separately and in proportion to the pedal force, and when the pedal is released it exhausts the brake chambers to atmosphere. With two separate sections, if one circuit leaks the other keeps braking. A worn valve causes delayed or uneven braking, slow release after the pedal is let go and a constant air leak that keeps the compressor running and lets reservoir pressure fall. The valve's graduated action lets the driver control braking force precisely through pedal travel.

Fitting

Before the change, fully drain the air reservoirs and chock the wheels. Mark and disconnect the air lines, connect the new valve in the same way and adjust the clearance between the pedal lever and the valve. Once the system is up to pressure, check the joints for leaks with soapy water and test the brakes at low speed first. A valve with a cracked or corroded body or broken ports is not repaired. Moisture and oil in the air system shorten valve life, so check the air dryer cartridge and the reservoir drain valves along with the change.
