Check valve kit 25/222185 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

A check valve lets oil pass in one direction only. This kit is made up of a plug, a spring and a poppet, and it fits into its cavity in the control valve body: the spring holds the poppet against its seat and the plug closes the cavity. In control valves, check valves of this kind stop the load running back at the moment the spool opens, before pump pressure has reached load pressure, so the arm or bucket does not drop at the start of a movement. A worn seat or a tired spring gives a short drop and a jerky start to the movement. The kit cures this fault without replacing the valve body. The parts of the kit are small and precise, so note the order of the old parts when dismantling and fit the new ones in the same order. Keep the poppet seat clean, since a single grain of sand stops the valve closing fully. The kit is chosen by part number and compared with the old parts.
