Hydraulic pump seal kit 20/902901 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders. The card also lists 333/Y4969.

A hydraulic pump seal kit contains the shaft seal, housing seals and the seals between the sections of a gear pump. According to sources, this kit suits Parker PGP series pumps and is used in the pumps of JCB 3CX, 4CX and other backhoe loaders. A pump leaking at the shaft seal or between sections can be rebuilt with this kit if the gears and housing are sound. During the rebuild, check the gears, side plates and bearings for wear, since a seal change alone is no lasting fix if these parts are worn. Dismantle the pump on a clean surface, mark the orientation of the parts and fit the seals oiled with clean oil.

Leave the adjusting screw of preset valves alone; settings are checked only with a gauge against the service data. On JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders with a gear pump, the working pressure of the hydraulic system is limited by the main relief valve in the loader valve: 236–241 bar on machines up to serial number 964124 and 248–252 bar on machines from serial number 964125 (standard and high-pressure hydraulics). It is checked with a 0–400 bar pressure gauge connected to the loader valve test point, with the engine at 1500 rev/min and the oil warmed to 50 °C.
