Pump drive coupling 331/43330 is an aftermarket part for the JCB Teletruk TLT35.

A drive plate coupling is a plastic-based plate that bolts to the flywheel and turns the shaft through internal splines in its centre. It carries torque from the engine to the driven unit, damps vibration and shields the unit's shaft from flywheel vibration. The plate's internal splines must match the shaft splines exactly; worn splines create play, knocking and finally slipping drive. Check the bolt holes round the edge and the spline area for cracks. Replacement means separating the engine from the driven unit, so inspect the other parts on the flywheel side while it is apart. The plate is chosen by part number, and its tooth count is compared with the old one. The plate comes new.

Fitting

To change the coupling, separate the pump or engine side and clean the flywheel flange and pump shaft. Tighten the new coupling bolts to the specified torque in a cross pattern and grease the splines as the manufacturer recommends. After assembly, run the engine at idle and listen for knocking and vibration.
