The card of this JCB pump lists the numbers 20/912800 and 20/903100. Both numbers refer to this pump; whichever appears in the machine's catalogue, compare the shaft, flange and ports with the old pump before the change. It is a two-section gear pump made by Parker that feeds the loader, backhoe and steering functions of the JCB 3CX backhoe loader. Pump life depends most on clean oil of the right viscosity, and keeping to the oil and filter change intervals protects the gears and side plates from early wear. The pump's shaft type and flange are set by the machine's transmission output, and a pump with a different shaft or flange cannot be fitted without changing the connecting parts. The pump is heavy and should be supported with a suitable lift during removal and fitting. After the change, fill the pump with clean oil before the first start, bleed the system and check the pressures with a gauge. The pump is chosen by its JCB number and checked against the old pump's label.
