Fuel rail (common rail) 320/06624 is a genuine JCB part for the machines with the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine.

The fuel rail is the thick-walled tube of a common rail system that stores fuel from the high-pressure pump and distributes it to all the injectors at equal pressure. The rail carries the pressure sensor and often a pressure-limiting valve, and the engine control unit manages the pump using the sensor signal. The rail works at over a thousand bar, so the slightest defect in its connections causes leaks, pressure loss and a no-start. If the pressure-limiting valve sticks open, the engine loses power and logs a fault code.

Fitting

Before working on a common rail system, stop the engine and wait for the pressure to drop. Clean thoroughly around the joints before opening them and cap every open end. Mount the new rail on its bolts without strain, start the high-pressure pipes by hand and then tighten them to the specified torque. Connect the sensor plug, clear the fault codes, run the engine and check the rail pressure and every joint for leaks.
