Transmission dipstick tube 332/F4981 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

The pipe carries fluid or gas between two connection points on the engine and is bent to follow its route. A pipe that cracks or is crushed by vibration, chafing or a knock leaks or restricts the flow. Its end fittings (union, flange or hose spigot) vary with the application, so it is chosen by part number. Brackets and clips keep it from cracking with vibration. The pipe is steel, aluminium or plastic, chosen for the pressure and temperature of its system. In breather pipes, oil deposits narrow the bore over time, so the connection points are cleaned when the pipe is replaced. The pipe is supplied new. The part number defines its shape, length and end fittings, and a different pipe will not follow the route. The pipe ends must be clean and free of burrs, and they are kept capped until fitting. The pipe is light to handle. The pipe joints must be leak-free.

Fitting

Fit the pipe without strain, tighten the joints with new gaskets or washers and refit the clips. After starting, check for leaks and chafing.
