Small end bush 3112E041 Perkins, aftermarket

Small end bush 3112E041 is an aftermarket part for the Perkins engine.

The small end bush is the bearing the gudgeon pin turns in, pressed into the small end of the connecting rod. When it wears, pin clearance grows and the engine knocks from the top; heavy wear can damage the piston and rod. Together with the gudgeon pin the small end bush works in oscillation in the top of the rod and is lubricated by engine oil. It is usually replaced during an overhaul, when pin clearance exceeds the limit. The bush is bronze-based.
