Bottom engine gasket set 02/200777 is an aftermarket part for the Perkins 1004 (AA, AB) engine. The card also lists 02/200215, 02/202408, U5LB1164.

The bottom gasket set holds the gaskets and seals for joints in the lower engine: sump, timing cover, oil pump and oil cooler, front and rear crankshaft seals and so on; exact contents vary by set. It is used together with the top set for crankshaft, bearing or piston work. Ageing gaskets show as oil leaks around the sump and timing cover. The bottom set is usually needed when curing oil leaks or during crankshaft and bearing work. Sump and timing cover gaskets last a long time, but reusing them after dismantling leads to leaks. The set is supplied new and complete in one pack. The gaskets are single-use and not refitted.

Fitting

Clean old gasket and sealant off the mating faces; fit the gaskets to dry, clean faces and tighten the bolts evenly. Lightly oil the seal lips before fitting. Change the oil after assembly and check for leaks. Where sealant is required, use the one named in the service manual.
