Oil filler cap 320/04090 is an aftermarket part for the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine.

The oil filler cap closes the engine's filler neck and its seal keeps dust and water out of the crankcase. A lost or cracked cap or a hardened seal lets dirt into the engine and oil vapour out around the cap. The photos show a cap with a wavy edge and an oil can symbol. The cap is plastic, with a seal underneath that sits on the filler neck. It opens easily by hand, which speeds up daily oil checks and top-ups. Take care when opening it on a hot engine: oil vapour and hot oil can spray from the crankcase. If the cap is lost, cover the neck with something clean until a new one is fitted, and do not work in dust. The cap sits in an easy-to-reach spot on top of the engine.

Fitting
