For the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine: fan drive pulley 320/08550, an aftermarket part. The card also lists 320/A8514.

The bearing is pressed into the housing and the unit is normally replaced complete. Compare the fan flange and housing holes with the old unit. Check the fan blades for cracks during the swap. The fan drive is part of the belt drive: its pulley is turned from the crank pulley by the belt. Fan speed follows engine speed, and the unit's bearing carries both the belt tension and the weight of the fan. Imbalance on the fan side shortens bearing life, so a fan with a broken blade must be replaced at once. The unit housing bolts to the front of the engine. The bearing is a sealed type.

JCB Dieselmax Engine in the JCB 3CX / 4CX: Builds, Technical Data and Servicing

Section K of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-14) deals with the installation of the JCB Dieselmax engine in JCB 3C, 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders. It gives the technical data for each engine build, the cold start heater electrics with their fault codes and the operation of the viscous fan coupling, together with the removal procedures for the radiator, expansion tank, fuel injection pump and the engine itself.
