Pressure sender 320/A4146 JCB, genuine

Pressure sender 320/A4146 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB machines. The card also lists 320/04046, 320/04038.

A pressure sender monitors engine or transmission oil pressure and, when the pressure falls below a set value, triggers a warning on the panel or passes the pressure reading to a gauge. Low oil pressure can quickly wear bearings and gears, so the warning is taken seriously: if it comes on, stop the engine and check the oil level. A faulty sender can give a false warning at normal pressure or fail to show a real pressure drop. When the warning appears, first confirm the pressure with a test gauge; if it is normal, replace the sender. If the small hole in the sender tip becomes blocked, the sender reacts late or not at all, so clean the tip before fitting.

Fitting

Before the change, switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery negative if needed. Remove the connector by pressing its latch, never by pulling the wires. After fitting the new part, push the clean, dry connector fully home and check that the latch has clicked into place. After reconnecting the battery, check the function and the instrument panel.
