Engine temperature gauge 704/50099 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

The coolant temperature gauge shows engine coolant temperature and lets the operator spot overheating early. It turns the resistance change of the temperature sender on the engine into needle movement. According to sources, 704/50099 is a 12 V water temperature gauge of about 55 mm diameter with an illumination bulb, used on JCB backhoe loaders. If the needle approaches the red zone, cool the engine at idle without load and find the cause. In normal running the coolant temperature needle sits in the middle zone; if it stays low, the thermostat may be stuck open and the engine never reaches working temperature. The gauge is chosen by diameter and connection type.

Fitting

Before the change, disconnect the battery negative. Remove the gauge from the panel, labelling its wires and illumination bulb as they come off. Connect the new gauge the same way and fix it. After reconnecting the battery, switch on the ignition and check that the gauge works and its illumination lights.
