3-pin temperature sensor connector is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines. On the product card the connector is listed as female with the number 715/20011, while in the JCB catalogue 715/20011 is the male plug. Choose the connector by the mating half on the sensor or harness.

A connector links a sensor, lamp or other electrical device to the machine's wiring harness. The sealed connectors used on construction machines have rubber seals for the body and wires and a latch that stops the halves separating under vibration. When the body cracks, the latch breaks or the contacts corrode, the signal or supply drops out from time to time and the device works intermittently. Replacing the connector with its wire tails restores the connection without replacing the whole harness.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys

Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
