Wiper switch 701/E0082 JCB, aftermarket

Wiper switch 701/E0082 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

The wiper switch controls the wiper motor of one of the cab windows and usually the washer pump; the product card lists this switch as the wiper switch, number 701/E0082. Its rocker positions select off, run and, when held, wash. A worn switch can make the wiper fail at one setting or stop outside its park position, symptoms that may also come from the motor's park contact, so check the motor and fuse first. The switch comes new. Replace the wiper blade too if it is worn.

Fitting

Do not wipe cab switches with wet cloths or solvents, since liquid seeps inside and oxidises the contacts. The switch is chosen by part number and its pin layout compared with the old one. If the pins at the back are darkened or melted, check the harness connector too, since a faulty connector will heat the new switch as well. After the change, test the function in every position. Rocker switches are held in the panel by their side clips, and a switch with broken clips can be pushed into the panel when used.
