Screen washer pump 714/20600 JCB, genuine

For the JCB machines: screen washer pump 714/20600, a genuine JCB part. The card also lists 332/G1897.

The pump sits in the reservoir in a rubber grommet; a hardened grommet leaks, so renew it when changing the pump. In winter, fill the reservoir with non-freezing screen wash, since frozen water locks the pump and can blow the fuse. Push the hose fully onto the pump outlet, otherwise pressure is lost. The pump is chosen by part number and outlet position. After the change, fill the reservoir, press the button, check that fluid comes evenly from the jets and adjust the jets if needed. The pump comes new. The jet holes can be cleared with a fine needle.

Fitting

Before the change, switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery negative. Unplug the motor, undo its fixing screws and lift it out. Fit the new motor in the same position, tighten the screws evenly and push the connector home until it locks. After reconnecting the battery, run the motor at every setting and check there is no noise or vibration.
