A/C compressor 24 V 123/04999 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines. The card also lists 400/Z1030.

The air conditioning compressor is the heart of the cab A/C refrigerant circuit: it compresses the low-pressure refrigerant gas coming from the evaporator and sends it at high pressure to the condenser. It is driven through its pulley by the engine belt, and an electromagnetic clutch inside the pulley engages the compressor when the A/C is switched on. The pistons and valve plate inside are lubricated by special oil that circulates with the refrigerant. A worn compressor leaves the cab poorly cooled, makes noise, or lets its clutch slip and overheat. Before replacing it, check the refrigerant charge and system pressures.

Compatibility

According to sources, 123/04999 (714/40226) is a 24 V SD7H15-type A/C compressor with a 125 mm two-groove clutch, used on JCB wheeled loaders, dump trucks and JS excavators. Other parts are in Compressors.

Fitting

Bolt the compressor by its lugs to the engine bracket and set the belt to the specified tension. Use new O-rings at the refrigerant pipe joints, lubricated with refrigerant oil. After connecting the clutch coil connector, switch on the A/C and check that the clutch engages.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys

Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
