Water pump 333/C9356 JCB Robot, genuine

For the JCB Robot skid steers and compact track loaders: water pump 333/C9356, a genuine JCB part. According to the product card, the pump is for the JCB Robot skid steer; the card also lists Perkins 10000-74356.

The pump is chosen by part number for the engine type and version, as one engine family can have different pulley diameters, impeller sizes and port positions. Several numbers on the card are versions of the same pump or its equivalents from different machine makers. When the pump is changed, the belt, tensioner and thermostat are checked too, and because old or dirty coolant soon ruins the new pump's seal, the system is flushed and refilled with fresh coolant. A few drops from the weep hole at first can be normal, but a steady leak means the pump needs replacing.

Fitting

Before the change, let the engine cool and drain the coolant into a suitable container. Slacken and remove the belt and undo the pump bolts. Clean the mating faces, fit the new pump with a new gasket or O-ring and tighten the bolts in a cross pattern to the specified torque. Refit the belt and set its tension, fill the system with the correct antifreeze and bleed it. Run the engine and check for leaks and temperature. Recheck the belt tension after the first run.
