The pump is chosen by part number for the engine type and version, as one engine family can have different pulley diameters, impeller sizes and port positions. Fitting

Before the change, let the engine cool and drain the coolant into a suitable container. Slacken and remove the belt and undo the pump bolts. Clean the mating faces, fit the new pump with a new gasket or O-ring and tighten the bolts in a cross pattern to the specified torque. Refit the belt and set its tension, fill the system with the correct antifreeze and bleed it. Run the engine and check for leaks and temperature. Recheck the belt tension after the first run.
