Air-conditioning receiver drier 30/926117 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders.

The receiver drier traps moisture and dirt in the air-conditioning refrigerant and stores liquid refrigerant before the expansion valve. The desiccant inside absorbs moisture entering the system, preventing icing and the formation of acid, which eats the compressor and pipes from the inside. The desiccant becomes saturated over time and stops working. The drier is therefore replaced whenever the system is opened (for example when the compressor, condenser or hoses are changed) and usually every few years. A saturated drier causes weak cooling and compressor failure. Run the air conditioning briefly once a month even in winter, which keeps the compressor seals from drying out and circulates oil through the system.

Fitting

The change is done at a qualified air-conditioning service with refrigerant recovery and charging equipment. After the refrigerant is recovered, the old drier is removed and the new one quickly fitted with new O-rings. The system is evacuated for at least 30 minutes, leak-checked and charged with the specified amount of refrigerant and compressor oil. The cooling performance is then measured.
