Transmission shaft 138383 Carraro, aftermarket

For the backhoe loaders with Carraro axles: transmission shaft 138383, an aftermarket part. This shaft is used in the transmission.

The shaft is chosen by part number, as transmissions of the same family use shafts of different length, spline count and drillings. When the shaft is replaced, also check the gears, bearings and seals that work on it. A shaft with stepped splines, cracks or heat discoloration must not be used; overheating marks point to a lubrication problem, and a new shaft fitted without curing it will also be damaged.

According to the product card, Carraro 138383 is a shaft; cross numbers: 6194366M1, 87701275, VOE11709101, CA0138383. Fit is confirmed by the axle or transmission type. Other parts are in Carraro.

Fitting

On assembly, clean the shaft journals, press the bearings on with a suitable tool and renew the seals. Blow out any oil passages with compressed air. After assembly, fill the transmission or axle with the specified oil and check for noise and leaks in operation. Renew all circlips and washers on the shaft, since they set the axial position of its gears and bearings. During assembly, check that the gears slide on the splines without binding and the bearings are fully seated.
