For the backhoe loaders with Carraro axles: propshaft yoke flange 384596, an OEM part.

The flange is chosen by part number according to its spline count, joint size (for example 35 x 126 mm) and connection type. When it is changed, renew the pinion seal and tighten the pinion nut to the torque in the service manual, since pinion bearing preload may depend on it. Lock the nut again (with a tab washer or staking). A flange with a groove worn in its seal face leaks even with a new seal.

Fitting

For the change, remove the propshaft and undo the pinion nut while holding the pinion still. Pull off the old flange with a puller; the new flange's seal face must be clean and unscratched. Push the flange squarely onto the splines, tighten and lock the nut, then reconnect the propshaft to the specified torque. The flange comes new; check that the dust shield is intact and the seal face unscratched. A worn propshaft joint is replaced in the same job. Compare the flange splines with the pinion splines; the spline count and diameter must match.
