Window catch / stop 335/Y5639 JCB 3CX/4CX, aftermarket

For the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders: window catch / stop 335/Y5639, an aftermarket part.

The catch is chosen by part number for the glass type and mounting position, and the two numbers on the card are versions of the same part. If the catch fixes through a hole in the glass, plastic or rubber washers must be used, as direct metal contact can crack the glass. The hinges and catches of opening windows are the small parts that take the most load when the machine shakes.

Fitting

Support the glass during the change so it cannot fall. Remove the old catch and clean the hole in the glass and the frame. Fit the new catch with its washers and tighten the screws without overdoing it. After fitting, open and close the glass a few times to check that the catch holds it securely. After fitting, check that the closed glass sits evenly against the seal. The catch screws are checked periodically for looseness.
