Mirror bracket, upper left, JS 332/U3153 is an aftermarket part for the JCB JS crawler excavators. According to the product card, this is the upper left mirror bracket of a JS excavator.

The mirror bracket attaches the rear-view mirror to the outside of the cab or its front pillar and holds it in the right position without shaking. It is usually made of steel tube or section, with one end bolted to the cab and the other carrying the arm the mirror fixes to. A bracket that has been knocked, bent or cracked at a weld makes the mirror shake, fall off or give a false view. Left and right brackets are mirror images. The joint or clamp where the bracket meets the mirror must be tight enough to hold the setting; if the mirror moves with vibration, the clamp or joint is replaced. Chipped paint on the bracket is touched up against rust.

Fitting

Remove the old bracket by undoing its bolts and clean the mounting area. Fit the new bracket in the same place, with anti-vibration washers if used, and tighten the bolts. After the mirror is fitted, adjust it from the operator's seat and check that the bracket does not shake. When fitting the bracket, clean the threaded holes in the cab.
