For the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders: control lever knob 128/G6884, an aftermarket part.

The knob is chosen by part number for the lever diameter and fixing style; several numbers on the card are versions of the same knob. On knobs with buttons, the wires are disconnected carefully. The knob is ergonomically shaped for the operator's hand and stops it slipping during work. If the knob has buttons, their wires are connected carefully. The thread or pin holding the knob can loosen over time, so the knob is checked regularly. Any rust on the lever end is cleaned off before the knob is fitted. Keep the knob clean. A lever knob is in constant contact with the hand and sweat, so over time it wears and becomes slippery; replacing a worn knob restores control precision and the operator's confidence. Knobs are usually replaced as a set so that all the levers give the same grip.

Fitting

Unscrew or pull the old knob off the end of the lever and clean the lever end. Screw or press the new knob on until it is fully home, using a suitable adhesive or locker if needed. After fitting, check that the knob does not turn and is firmly seated.
