Cab mount, lower 331/18442 is an aftermarket part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders. This is a lower cab mount.

A cab mount is a rubber-to-metal flexible support that attaches the cab to the frame. It reduces the engine, transmission and ground shocks reaching the cab, so the operator is exposed to less vibration and noise and the cab glass and fixings are protected too. A mount whose rubber is cracked, crushed or separated from the metal lets the cab knock against the frame, causes rattles and vibration at work and makes the doors hard to close. Working for long with failed mounts increases operator fatigue. The state of the mounts is felt especially when driving on the road: a cab on failed mounts jolts hard over every bump.

Fitting

For the change, lift the cab slightly with secure lifting gear and support it, never putting hands or body under it. Remove the old mount, clean the seat and fit the new mount the right way up. Once the cab is lowered, tighten the bolts to the specified torque and check that the doors close easily. Recheck the bolt torque after the first days of work.
