The door lock also lets the cab be locked against theft and unauthorised use. Opening easily from inside is essential for emergency exit.

Fitting

Before changing the lock, fix the door open and remove the inner trim. Mark and disconnect the handle cables and rods and remove the lock bolts. Fit the new lock in the same position, reconnect the linkages and, before closing the door, check the lock works from the handles. Finally check that the door closes easily and latches fully, adjusting the striker if needed. When fitting the lock, adjust the cable slack, as a taut cable can release the lock by itself.
