Hub bearing 907/54100 is an aftermarket part for the JCB JS wheeled excavators. The card also lists HM804846/HM804810.
In construction machine axles the bearings support the gears and shafts and carry both radial and axial loads. On backhoe loaders and telehandlers the axle works hard, with bucket loads, shocks from rough ground and frequent changes of direction, and the bearings must carry these loads without upsetting the gear mesh. A worn bearing changes the gear clearances, causes whine and heat and in time damages the gears and seals, so it is replaced at the first signs of wear.

Compatibility
According to sources, bearing 907/54100 is listed for the JS130W–JS175W wheeled excavators and their JCB axles. HM804846/HM804810 is the standard designation of the tapered roller bearing: the inner ring with rollers (cone) and the outer ring (cup). Other parts are in Bearings.
Fitting
When the old bearing is removed, check the housing and shaft seat for burrs, rust and wear, since a worn seat lets the new bearing spin. Renew the seals and O-rings next to the bearing too. When the axle oil is drained, look at the metal particles in it: a lot of particles suggests the gears may also be worn. The bearing is chosen by comparing its number and dimensions (bore, outside diameter and width) with the old one. During the first hours of work after the change, feel the axle casing around the bearing: excessive heat indicates too much preload, and the adjustment must be redone.
