Bucket tooth set 600 mm is an aftermarket part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders. According to the product card, the set contains the teeth for a 600 mm bucket.

Bucket teeth and tips protect the cutting edge and are the first parts to enter the ground when digging. A tooth system usually consists of an adaptor welded to the bucket and a replaceable tip fitted over it and held by a pin and retainer, so that only the tip is changed when it wears. Sharp tips of the right shape enter the ground with less force, cutting fuel use and wear on the bucket itself. Working with worn, shortened or broken tips wears the adaptor and damages the bucket lip. Ground type decides the choice of tips: tips with a thick wear zone for sandy and abrasive ground, sharp forged tips that take impact better for hard and stony ground. When a tip is changed, the adaptor nose is measured too, as a new tip on a worn adaptor sits loose, overloads the retaining pin and can fall off.

Fitting

Before replacing a wear part, lower the bucket to the ground, stop the machine and support the bucket so that it cannot move. Clean dirt and rust off the mounting faces and holes, seat the new part and tighten the bolts or fit the retainers as the maker specifies. Check the fixing again after the first hours of work.
