Bucket tooth retaining pin 333/F1399 JCB, aftermarket

For the JCB machines: bucket tooth retaining pin 333/F1399, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, this part is a bucket tooth retaining pin.

When the bucket teeth are changed, renewing the pins and retainers is recommended, as an old pin is usually worn and has lost its spring. Check that the pin is fully seated and its end does not stand proud of the tooth surface. The bucket teeth and their pins are inspected at the start of every shift.

Fitting

Drive the old pin out with a punch from the opposite side of the tooth. Fit the new tooth on the adaptor, place the retainer and hammer the pin in until fully seated. Wear eye protection, as sparks and fragments can fly when steel parts are struck.
