QVPRO CI-4/SL 5W-40 engine oil, 10 l is an aftermarket product for the construction machines. API CI-4/SL means the oil meets both the diesel (CI-4) and petrol (SL) classes. Pack: can.

Diesel engine oil forms a film between the moving parts of the engine to reduce friction and wear, cools the pistons and bearings, keeps soot and dirt in suspension and carries them to the filter, and protects internal surfaces from corrosion. On construction machines the engine works for long periods under load, in dust and often at idle, and these conditions use up the additive package quickly. Heavy-duty diesel oils therefore contain more detergent and anti-wear additives than car oils. The API class on the pack (for example CI-4 or CK-4) shows which generation of engines the oil is designed for, and the SAE grade (for example 10W-40) shows its viscosity when cold and when hot. The colour of the oil alone does not show when it needs changing.

Use

Change the oil with the engine warm so that the old oil drains better together with the dirt. Renew the drain plug washer, oil the seal of the new filter and fill the engine with the specified quantity. After running the engine briefly, check the level again and top up if necessary.
