Mixing antifreezes of different types is not recommended, as the additives can react with each other, form deposits and block the radiator passages. When changing type, the system is drained completely and flushed with clean water. A concentrate is diluted with distilled water in the ratio the maker recommends for the lowest local temperature, while ready-mixed fluids are used undiluted. The freezing point can be checked with a refractometer or hydrometer. Coolant is added only from clean containers through a clean funnel, and an opened pack is closed tightly. Antifreeze is poisonous and must be kept out of reach of children and animals, and any spills are cleaned up at once.

Use

Fill the antifreeze into the expansion tank, with the engine cold, to between the marks. If the system was drained, warm the engine until the thermostat opens, bleed out the air and check the level again once it has cooled.
