1/8 BSP 1450/0001 straight grease nipple is an aftermarket part for the construction machines. A grease nipple is the one-way valve through which grease enters the joint.

A grease nipple is a small valve onto which the grease gun coupler is fitted and through which grease is pumped into a joint, bush or bearing. A spring-loaded ball inside opens when grease is pumped and then closes, stopping grease coming back and dirt getting in. A broken, crushed or blocked nipple will not take grease, so the point stops being lubricated and the pin or bush soon wears. Nipples are therefore checked during greasing and damaged ones are replaced at once.

Compatibility

Fitting

Remove the old nipple with a suitable spanner, start the new one by hand and tighten it gently, as overtightening can snap it. Then check that it takes grease.
