Slew cylinder 395005019 is an aftermarket part for the Komatsu backhoe loaders.

A cylinder's life depends above all on clean hydraulic oil, an undamaged rod surface and the state of the mounting pins. Dirty oil scratches the piston seals and the bore, while stone strikes and scratches on the rod ruin the wiper and rod seals. Play in the mounting eyes side-loads the cylinder, bends the rod and wears the seals on one side. That is why the pins, bushes and grease nipples are checked when a cylinder is replaced. Route the pipes on the cylinder and the hoses so they do not rub on other parts in operation. The cylinder is heavy; protect the rod from knocks when moving it and never lift the cylinder by its rod. The cylinder is chosen by part number. After the change, inspect the rods and seals of the other cylinders too, since cylinders working in the same conditions usually wear in a similar way.

Fitting

After the first hours of work, recheck the pin retainers and hose joints, and keep to the hydraulic filter service intervals. When connecting the hoses, renew the sealing rings and tighten the unions to the specified torque.
