Hammer line pipe, left 335/10965 is an aftermarket part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders.

Hammer line pipes carry oil from the control valve along the arm to a hydraulic breaker or other attachment on the backhoe loader. The pipes are clamped along the boom and dipper, with unions at their ends for the attachment hoses. With the breaker working, the line takes high-frequency pressure pulses, so a loose clamp or damaged pipe soon cracks. Left and right pipes differ in shape and are not interchangeable. Check the clamps, brackets and union seals during the change. The aftermarket pipe is made to the shape and end fittings of the original. The pipe is chosen by part number and compared with the old one for shape, end fittings and brackets. The aftermarket pipe comes new, with its ends capped for transport. Because of breaker vibration, every joint in the hammer line should be checked regularly.

Fitting

Before fitting, release the system pressure and cap the hoses. Put the new pipe in place, start the connections by hand, then tighten the clamps and unions; start the engine and check for leaks. Do not bend or force the pipe during fitting, since a pipe under strain cracks.
