Fuel pressure control valve 9307-515A is an OEM part for the engines with Delphi common rail fuel systems.

The fuel pressure control valve in a common rail system adjusts the pressure produced by the pump, or the amount of fuel entering the pump, as commanded by the engine control unit. This keeps the rail pressure matched to engine speed and load. The valve consists of a solenoid coil and a precision spool, and dirt or water in the fuel makes the spool stick. A faulty valve causes no-start, loss of power, rough running and rail pressure fault codes. The valve connector latch must engage fully, as a loose connector causes intermittent faults.

Fitting

Do the change cleanly: clean around the valve, disconnect the battery negative and unplug the connector. Remove the old valve and fit the new one straight away so no dirt enters the seat; wet the new O-rings with clean fuel and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. After assembly, bleed the system, clear the fault codes, run the engine and check the rail pressure and for leaks.
