Leak-off line cap 320/07212 JCB 444, aftermarket

Leak-off line cap 320/07212 is an aftermarket part for the machines with the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine.

This cap closes the injector leak-off connection or the end of the leak-off line and keeps it sealed. On some engines each injector has a cap that connects it to the leak-off line and is sealed with an O-ring, while on the last injector the end of the line is closed with a blanking cap. The cap's plastic body hardens and cracks over time, and a cap with a crushed or broken O-ring leaks fuel and lets air in. A fuel smell or wet patches on the engine usually come from these small parts. The cap is chosen by part number for the engine and injector version. The new cap must be the same type as the old one, as different versions use different O-ring sizes.

Fitting

Before fitting the cap, clean the injector connection and wet the O-ring with clean fuel. Press the cap on squarely until its clip clicks home, as a cap forced on can crack. After assembly, bleed the system and check the cap for fuel leaks with the engine running. After the first run, wipe the area with a clean cloth and check it again a little later.
