The line is chosen by part number for the engine type and injector version, as the fitting shapes and hose lengths are set for the injector order. Plastic connections harden and become brittle with heat and fuel over time, so when the injectors are changed the line is checked too and hardened parts renewed. Measuring the leak-off volume is an easy way to find an injector with excessive leakage. The line is fitted without mixing up the injector order. The plastic parts of the line harden over time from heat.

Fitting

Before the change, let the engine cool and clean around the injectors. Remove the old connections carefully without breaking the plastic clips. Seat the new line fully on each injector with its seals and clips, routing the hoses away from hot parts. After assembly, bleed the fuel system, run the engine and check every joint for leaks. After a day's work, check the connections a second time.
