Genuine and OEM oil filters are made to the filtration fineness and dirt-holding capacity the engine maker specifies. The outer can is thick enough to withstand engine vibration and oil pressure surges, whereas a thin can may swell under pressure or leak at the seal. Do not crush the filter or scratch its seal face in storage or transport. The OEM filter comes from the maker who supplies filters to the engine manufacturer for original fitment. It comes new and should be kept in its packaging, since dust can get into an unpacked filter.

According to sources, 320/B4420, 320/04133 and 320/04133A refer to the same engine oil filter, used on JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders, 444-engined Loadall telehandlers and other JCB machines. Fitting

Collect the old filter and used oil so the environment is not harmed and take them to an authorised collection point. Record the date, engine hours and the oil type used in the service log. Check the engine oil level with the dipstick a few minutes after stopping, with the machine on level ground; it must be between the marks. Too much oil is as harmful as too little, causing foaming and seal leaks.
