On tracked machines, undercarriage bolts hold the track shoes, sprocket, rollers and idler in place. They work in mud and stones and under constant impact. A loose shoe bolt soon wears the shoe and the link hole, while a loose sprocket bolt lets the sprocket move on the hub and leads to broken bolts.

Fitting
