Rear crankshaft seal carrier 320/03133 JCB Dieselmax, genuine

For the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine: rear crankshaft seal carrier 320/03133, a genuine JCB part. The card also lists 320/03099.

A leaking rear seal shows as drips under the flywheel housing and oil traces on the clutch side. The rear seal is always renewed when the carrier is replaced. The flywheel has to come off for the job. The carrier face is machined smooth for the seal lip and must be free of scratches and rust. The part bolts to the rear of the crankshaft, with its holes lined up with the flange holes. At an overhaul the rear seal and this part are assessed together. The part is steel and should be stored oiled against corrosion.

Fitting

Remove the flywheel and the old carrier and clean the rear of the crankshaft. Fit the new carrier, tighten its bolts evenly and fit a new rear seal. Torque the flywheel bolts to the specified figure. Fit the new seal square to the carrier.
