Pushrod 320/03515, 300 mm is a genuine JCB part for the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine.

The pushrod carries the camshaft movement through the tappet to the rocker arm; its lower end sits in the tappet and its upper end on the rocker adjusting screw. A bent pushrod stops the valve opening fully, makes the valve gear tick and loses power. Too small a valve clearance or a valve touching a piston can bend pushrods. The pushrod is a thin, light steel rod ending in hardened ball ends. There is one rod for each valve set. The ends are lubricated by oil running down from the rocker gear. Straight pushrods matter for the valve adjustment to hold. The rod length and end shape are defined by the part number. The pushrod is supplied new; its length is checked against the part number.
