Inlet rocker arm 320/03922 JCB Dieselmax, genuine

Inlet rocker arm 320/03922 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine. The card also lists 320/03653, 320/03775.

The rocker arm pivots on the rocker shaft and passes the pushrod movement to the valve bridge. Its hub has a bush that turns on the shaft, and its end carries the adjusting screw for the valve clearance. When the bush wears, the arm rocks on the shaft, the clearance will not hold and the valve gear ticks. Inlet and exhaust arms differ in shape and are not interchangeable. The arm tip that touches the valve bridge is hardened; if that face is worn or pitted, the arm is replaced. The arm is cast steel. The ball end of the adjusting screw sits on the top of the pushrod. The rocker arm is supplied new.

Fitting

Fit the arm on the shaft in its position between the springs and oil the bush. After assembly, set the valve clearance to JCB figures and tighten the locknut. Measure the clearance between the arm bush and the shaft.
