Fan pulley 320/08583 JCB Dieselmax, genuine

Fan pulley 320/08583 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB Dieselmax 444 engine. The card also lists 320/A8510.

The fan pulley passes the belt drive to the cooling fan, which bolts to it. Worn grooves make the belt slip and wear fast, while a bent or cracked pulley makes the fan wobble and vibrate. Pulley diameter sets the fan speed, so a pulley of another diameter changes the cooling. The pulley is a metal casting and must run in balance together with the fan. The holes in its hub centre the fan. When changing the belt, check the pulley grooves for wear and rust, because a worn groove soon ruins a new belt. After replacing the pulley, recheck the belt tension after a few hours of work. The pulley is supplied new, with its diameter defined by the part number. The pulley hub must be concentric with the fan flange, as run-out causes vibration.
