Bulb R5W 12V BA15s, aftermarket

For the lamps of JCB and other construction machines: bulb R5W 12V, an aftermarket part. The card also lists 720/10043.

R5W is a 5 W bulb with a BA15s single-contact bayonet base for 12 V systems, used in side lights, number plate lamps and some warning lamps. The product card also gives the JCB number 720/10043. The bulb voltage must match the machine's electrical system: a 12 V bulb blows at once on 24 V, and a 24 V bulb glows very dimly on 12 V. The bulb is chosen by its standard designation: type, voltage, wattage and base.

Fitting

Before changing the bulb, switch off the circuit and let the lamp cool. Push the bulb fully into its holder, and never touch the glass of halogen bulbs with bare hands. After the change, switch the lamp on to check it works and that the lamp body seal is in place.
