Radiator hose, lower 834/11557 JCB 3CX/4CX, aftermarket

For the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders: radiator hose, lower 834/11557, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, this is the lower radiator hose.

The hose is chosen by part number for its position (upper, lower, turbo, intercooler, air filter) and machine version; bend shape and diameters differ, so similar-looking hoses are not interchangeable. When the hose is changed, the clamps are renewed too, as old clamps have lost their tension and may leak. Hoses must not touch hot or moving parts. The rubber compound of the hoses is chosen to resist coolant, oil vapour and ozone, so the hose stays flexible for a long time. Its bore and bend shape are designed not to restrict the flow.

Fitting

Before changing a coolant hose, let the engine cool and drain the coolant; for air hoses, stop the engine. Slacken the old clamps and remove the hose without straining the pipes. Clean the pipe ends, push the new hose fully home and tighten new clamps positioned behind the beads. Fill and bleed the cooling system, run the engine and check for leaks, then retighten the clamps after the first warm-up. After air hoses are fitted, check the joints for air leaks with the engine running.
