Heater tap 923/10121 JCB 3CX/4CX, aftermarket

For the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders: heater tap 923/10121, an aftermarket part. This is the heater tap.

The valve is chosen by part number for the hose diameter, control type and machine version, and the second number on the card is a version of the same valve. When it is changed, the heater hoses and clamps are checked too. At the start of winter, check that the valve opens and closes fully. A valve that has not been opened for a long time can seize with deposits, so it is worth opening and closing it now and then even in summer. The arrow on the valve body shows the flow direction. The age of the hoses on the valve connections is checked too.

Fitting

Before the change, let the engine cool and clamp the heater hoses or partly drain the coolant. Disconnect the control cable or plug and remove the valve from the hoses. Fit the new valve observing the flow direction, connect the hoses with new clamps and attach and adjust the control. After topping up and bleeding the system, check that the heater works and there are no leaks.
