Cab heater valve 401/P1107 is an OEM part for the JCB machines.

The heater valve opens, closes or regulates the flow of hot coolant from the engine to the cab heater matrix. In winter, with the valve open, warm air comes into the cab, while in summer a closed valve stops the heater matrix working against the cooling, especially in air-conditioned cabs. The valve may be operated by hand, by a cable or by an electric actuator. A sticking valve leaves the cab cold or permanently warm, and a leaking valve lets coolant into the cab or engine bay and the level drops. A valve that has not been opened for a long time can seize with deposits, so it is worth opening and closing it now and then even in summer. The arrow on the valve body shows the flow direction. The age of the hoses on the valve connections is checked too.

Fitting

Before the change, let the engine cool and clamp the heater hoses or partly drain the coolant. Disconnect the control cable or plug and remove the valve from the hoses. Fit the new valve observing the flow direction, connect the hoses with new clamps and attach and adjust the control. After topping up and bleeding the system, check that the heater works and there are no leaks.
