Planetary annulus gear 141865 is an aftermarket part for the backhoe loaders with Carraro axles. This gear is the internally toothed annulus (ring) gear of the planetary gearbox.

The planetary gearbox at the wheel end consists of the sun (central) gear, the planet gears and the internally toothed annulus (ring) gear. The sun gear, turned by the axle shaft, drives the planets, which roll inside the annulus and turn the hub carrier and so the wheel, slower but with more torque. Pitting, chipped teeth or heavy wear cause whine, knocking and metal particles in the oil. The planetary oil level is checked regularly.

Compatibility

According to the product card, Carraro 141865 is a planetary gear; cross numbers: 199-0767. Fit is confirmed by the axle or transmission type. Other parts are in Carraro.

Fitting

For the change, remove the wheel, drain the planetary oil and take off the hub carrier. Fit the gears with their pins and bearings the right way round, making sure the sun gear circlip seats properly. Renew the gaskets, tighten the bolts to the specified torque and fill the planetary with the specified oil. The gear comes new; before fitting, check the teeth for burrs or impact marks. Hold the planet gear needles in place with grease during assembly.
