Oil seal 145761 is an aftermarket part for the backhoe loaders with Carraro axles.

An oil seal seals the point where a rotating shaft leaves its housing: its lip presses lightly on the shaft to keep oil in and dust and water out. When the lip hardens or is scored, or the shaft wears under it, oil leaks, and in axles and gearboxes this leads to a falling level and gears running dry.

Fitting

Clean the seal bore, lubricate the seal's outer surface and lip with clean oil and drive it squarely into place with a suitable mandrel. Check the oil level after assembly and look for leaks after the first run. An old seal is never reused.
